St. Patrick’s Celebration in Red Bank: The Quiet Man Returns to the Big Screen

Red Bank movie lovers are invited to celebrate St. Patrick’s week with a special screening of John Ford’s beloved classic The Quiet Man (1952) at the Basie Center Cinema House on Thursday, March 12.

Presented by Marquee Classic Movies, the evening will feature more than just the film. Before the screening begins, guests will be welcomed with a live bagpiper and Irish step dancers to help set the festive mood for this iconic Irish-themed movie night.

Released in 1952 and starring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara, The Quiet Man tells the story of an American boxer who returns to his ancestral village in Ireland and finds both romance and conflict in the picturesque countryside. The film remains one of the most beloved Irish-set films ever made and won two Academy Awards, including Best Director for John Ford.

The event will take place at the Basie Center Cinema House in Red Bank, offering audiences a chance to experience this classic on the big screen with fellow film lovers.

Doors open at 5:30 PM, with the program beginning at 6:00 PM.
