4 Charged In Armed Robberies At Bergen County Spas: Prosecutor

Three men and a woman have been charged in connection with robberies at Bergen County spas, prosecutors said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Four people have been charged in connection with armed robberies at spas in Bergen County, prosecutors said Tuesday.

John Cesse Rosario, 24, of the Bronx, Fraylan De La Rosa, 26, of Brooklyn, Brayan Abreu, 23, of the Bronx, and Esther Rosado, 24, of the Bronx were arrested in connection with the incidents, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors said that last Sept. 25, around 3 a.m., Edgewater and North Bergen police responded to an armed robbery that
had occurred earlier that morning at a spa on River Road in Edgewater.

Police said a victim was robbed at gunpoint by a masked assailant while in the spa. The robber allegedly stole an iPhone and Apple watch.

Police and prosecutors determined that multiple suspects were involved and drove in a Toyota Camry, which was ultimately linked to Rosario.

Then, on Oct. 5, around 2:25 a.m., Edgewater police responded to an armed robbery at another spa on River Road. The suspects used a silver Jetta, which investigators linked to Rosario, prosecutors said.

On Oct. 30, police, prosecutors, and the FBI arrested Rosario in the Bronx.

Investigators eventually charged Perez and Abreu in connection with the first robbery. They were arrested in December and January.

They were extradited from New York to Bergen County. Abreu was released to await further court action. De La Rosa Perez and Rosario remain in jail to await a trial, prosecutors said.

Rosario and Perez were charged in March in connection with the second robbery. Rosado was charged for her role in helping plan the second robbery, but detectives initially couldn't locate her.

Rosario, Perez, and Abreu were indicted on charges of first-degree armed robbery and other offenses.

On June 4, Esther Rosado was arrested in Maryland on an unrelated matter. She was extradited to Bergen County, where she remains in jail to await further court action, prosecutors said.
