Parts of Route 208 To Close For Bergen County Bridge Replacement: State DOT

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Lanes of Route 208 will close this week for a bridge replacement project that impacts Glen Rock and Fair Lawn.

During the work, Route 507/Maple Avenue will have alternating traffic.

The state's Department of Transportation said:

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the right lanes on Route 208 in both directions are scheduled to be closed. The closures are necessary for PSE&G to remove overhead wires. At least one lane will be maintained.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. all three days, Route 507/Maple Avenue is scheduled to have a single lane closure with alternating traffic on the bridge over Route 208. Drivers are advised to slow down, use caution, and expect delays when traveling through the work zone.

The work is part of the $10.4 million federally funded replacement project that will replace the bridge deck and superstructure on the Route 507/Maple Avenue Bridge over Route 208 in Glen Rock and Fair Lawn.

The project is meant to improve bridge under-clearance, drainage, lighting, signage, and fencing on the bridge, as well as replace sidewalks and upgrade curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards.

Construction is expected to be completed around two years from now, in fall 2028.
