Street Closures And Detours Planned In Ridgewood: See Revised Roadwork Schedule

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Despite impacts from the nor'easter over the weekend, planned roadwork in Ridgewood will go on as scheduled this week, officials said Monday. However, some of the times have changed.

Both town and county roads will undergo resurfacing this week.

Village Manager Keith Kazmark said, "This week will bring significant road work in the Village. Some projects were originally scheduled for this coming week, and others were postponed until this week due to weather. "

He noted the following projects:

• Bergen County will begin resurfacing work on Van Emburgh Avenue and Prospect Street on Tuesday, due to rain on the forecast for Monday.
• The final phase of Ridgewood Water's Glen Avenue Booster Station Project was scheduled to start on Monday. Construction crews will begin replacing the 100-year-old water mains beneath Glen Avenue, from Highwood Avenue in Midland Park to Oak Street in Ridgewood, and connecting them to a new system. Work will begin in Midland Park and take place on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.Sections of Glen Avenue will be fully or partially closed throughout the project. Police will help with traffic and detours.
• South Pleasant Avenue paving will occur this Saturday so it doesn't disrupt school drop-off and pickup.

Also, the Recycling Center will be closed from Wednesday through Oct. 5 (at the earliest) while nearby milling and paving work is completed.
