Mobile MVC Unit To Visit Scotch Plains Next Month
The event will be held at the Shady Rest Country Club.
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Scotch Plains residents will have convenient access to a variety of New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) services when a Mobile MVC Unit visits the township on Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shady Rest Country Club.

Hosted by the Township of Scotch Plains in collaboration with the office of Assemblywoman Linda Carter, the mobile unit will offer appointment-based services including REAL ID applications, registration renewals, initial permits (testing not available), non-driver IDs, and duplicate or replacement titles and registrations.
Appointments are required for those services and can be scheduled by contacting bserio@scotchplainsnj.com or calling 908-322-6700, ext. 313.

Several services will also be available on a walk-up basis without an appointment, including license plate surrender, handicapped, veteran, and Purple Heart placards, and the purchase of red GDL decals.
Officials note that the Mobile MVC Unit is wheelchair accessible. Residents are encouraged to make appointments early, as availability may be limited. Cancellation is possible due to weather or unforeseen circumstances at the discretion of the MVC.
