Scotch Plains Reminds Residents Of Free Storm Branch Pickup
Residents must place eligible debris at the curb by Sunday, July 12.
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Scotch Plains will provide residents with an additional free curbside pickup of storm-related branches following the recent severe weather.
Residents must place eligible debris at the curb by Sunday, July 12. The collection is limited to fallen branches no longer than 6 feet and no more than 2 inches in diameter. Stumps, which can damage collection equipment and delay service, and all other materials will not be accepted.
Department of Public Works crews will make one pass through the township, covering both sides of town simultaneously. Officials noted that the emergency pickup was not part of the township's regular schedule, and residents are asked to be patient as crews balance storm cleanup with previously scheduled projects, including summer road paving.
