Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit By 2 Vehicles On Rt 1 South Brunswick

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A pedestrian was fatally struck by two vehicles while attempting to cross Route 1 South near the Popeyes and White Castle restaurants Monday night, police said.

The crash occurred around 9:20 p.m. when the pedestrian was struck by two southbound vehicles while crossing the roadway's median, police said.

The pedestrian was dead at the scene.

Route 1 South was closed for an extended period while police processed the scene.

The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The investigation remains ongoing.
