Sunday August 9 Community to Gather for Millburn Blues and Blessings and Maplewood Sunday Gazebo Jazz
Sunday brings powerful live blues and smooth gazebo jazz as communities unite for a full day of uplifting music and shared celebration.
Millburn, Maplewood, surrounding residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a full day of community‑driven programming this Sunday. The day will begin with a morning of music and inspiration at Mt Zion AME Millburn and continue at the annual Springfield Avenue Sunday Gazebo Jazz at the Springfield Avenue Gazebo.
The day begins in Millburn from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM with Blues & Blessings at Mt. Zion AME Church, led by Rev. Eyesha Marable. The program features Jeanne Ricks, known for her soulful guitar work and blues‑driven musical storytelling. She will be joined by percussionist Kevin Harewood. The Blues & Blessings service is designed as an open, welcoming space for families, friends, and the broader community.
At 3:00 PM, the celebration moves up the road to Maplewood for the Sunday Gazebo Jazz Series, a free annual outdoor concert that has become a summer favorite. This week’s lineup includes the Coo Moe Jhee's CMJ Jazz Band and international vocalist Wilma Ann, bringing high‑energy jazz, groove, and global rhythms to the Springfield Avenue Gazebo.

Families, friends, and neighbors are encouraged to make a full day of it—bring a chair or blanket, bring the kids, and enjoy the welcoming community atmosphere that defines these annual gatherings.
