Chick-Fil-A Mass Shooting: 1 Dead, 6 Injured, No Arrests, Authorities Say
Authorities said they did not believe the shooting was a random act of violence, nor was there an ongoing threat to the public.
UNION, NJ — One person was killed and six were injured in a shooting Saturday night at a Chick-fil-A in Union, according to authorities, who said no one was immediately arrested.
Police responded around 9 p.m. to the fast food restaurant on Route 22 and found seven victims, one of whom was pronounced dead, authorities said. The remaining six victims suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, according to authorities.
“This is an active and ongoing investigation,” the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release Sunday afternoon. “While no arrests have been made at this time, the preliminary investigation reveals this does not appear to be a random act of violence and that there is no immediate ongoing threat to the general public.”
