Parade Cancelled, Ceremony Delayed For Memorial Day In Summit

The Memorial Day ceremony on the Village Green has been delayed until 11 a.m. Monday.

SUMMIT, NJ — Summit’s Memorial Day parade scheduled for Monday has been canceled due to forecasted bad weather, city officials announced Sunday night.

While the parade will no longer take place, the Memorial Day ceremony is still scheduled to be held on the Village Green at 11 a.m., according to the city.

Officials said the decision was made because of concerns involving marching safety, band equipment, and speaker systems in wet conditions.
