Broadway Meets The Beach Offers Summer Camp For Kids In Ocean County

The Broadway shows that have been held in Seaside Heights are moving to a new venue and the group is offering summer camp for kids.

ISLAND HEIGHTS, NJ — For those who enjoy Broadway musical theatre right here at the Jersey Shore, Broadway Meets the Beach is returning to Ocean County for the 2026 summer season.

This year, however, they will be performing in a new location: Wanamaker Field in Island Heights.

In addition to the show series — there are four nights scheduled for 2026 — Broadway Meets the Beach will be offering a summer theater camp program for kids. The weeklong "Future Stars" summer workshops, where young performers train with Broadway professionals and perform live during the shows.

The shows will be presented at Wanamaker Field, at 5 Wanamaker Municipal Complex, adjacent to the post office and police station. The shows are produced by Joseph John Brunetti, Katie Campbell Sherman, and Madison McPhee.

"Come hungry because they'll have the best food, brew and dessert trucks including Kona Ice," the organizers said.

The shows are scheduled for the following dates:

Friday, July 3, 5:30 p.m. The show will finish with a big fireworks display. The stars scheduled to perform will two-time Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis (Rock of Ages, Jekyll and Hyde and American Idol); Lucia Giannetta (A Bronx Tale, Les Miserables, Leap of Faith, Hercules), and Ted Brunetti (A Bronx Tale, Anastasia, Law & Order).

Thursday, Aug. 6, 6:30 p.m. The stars scheduled to perform are Christine Dwyer (Elphaba in Wicked, Jenna in Waitress, Jesus Christ Superstar Live with John Legend and Cynthia Erivo, Finding Neverland and Rent) and Matt Deangeles (Hair, Waitress, Swept Away, Once).

Friday, Aug. 21, 6:30 p.m. Scheduled to perform are Stephanie Klemons (Star and dance captain of Hamilton, In The Heights, If/Then, Bring It On) and Bill Bowers (The Lion King, The Scarlet Pimpernel)

Monday, Aug. 31, 6:30 p.m. Scheduled to perform are Alysha Umphress (On The Town, Bring It On, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, American Idiot); Korie Lee Blossy (Genie in Aladdin, Little Shop of Horrors, Tarzan); Jenny Lee Stern (Rocky, A Christmas Story, Forbidden Broadway) and The Trebletones, who are a national champion quartet.

The Future Stars Summer Broadway Intensives for youngsters begin in late June and each week is timed to the scheduled shows, with the camp students performing at the shows.

The weeks are as follows:

  • June 29 – July 3 (performance on July 3 in the evening)
  • Aug. 3 – 7 (performance on Aug. 7 in the evening)
  • Aug. 17 – 21 (performance on Aug. 21 in the evening)
  • Aug. 24-28 and Aug. 31 (performance on Aug. 31 in the evening)

The camp workshops will be held in Island Heights as well.

The cost is $250 per week for a single week; $225 per week for two weeks ($450 total); $200 per week for three weeks ($600) or $175 per week ($700) for all four weeks.

The prices are good through May 15 and they accept payment plans with a $100 nonrefundable deposit. Full payment is due one week before the workshop begins.
