Fire Closes Ocean County Courts In Toms River
Firefighters are at the Ocean County Justice Complex, according to the sheriff's office.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Ocean County Courthouse is closed on Monday following a fire response at the courthouse.
The source of the issue was not immediately available as of 11:15 a.m. but firefighters and Ocean County Sheriff’s officers were outside the older section of the building.
The issue did not appear to affect the Ocean County Jail or the construction of the jail expansion, where work was active at the same time.

The fire rsponse closed Hoooer Avenue from Washington Street to Madison Avenue but the road was reopened shortly before 11 a.m.

"Due to a facilities issue, Ocean Vicinage will be closed the remainder of today, May 11th, 2026. For Temporary Restraining Orders, please contact the Family Division - Domestic Violence Unit at (732)504-0700, extension 64608, or your local police department."
