Five Kinnelon Roads Set For September Paving

KINNELON, NJ — Whether they are heading to work, dropping children off at school or traveling to a doctor’s appointment, drivers who use five Kinnelon roads may want to leave extra time when paving begins next month.

Crews are expected to begin milling and paving Brookvalley Road, Brookvalley Terrace, Voorhis Road, Manrodt and Elizabeth Drive on or around Monday, September 21, according to a notice from the Borough of Kinnelon.

The work is expected to last a couple of days, although the borough did not provide exact daily work hours or say whether weather could alter the schedule.

The borough advised drivers to “please remove all vehicles from roadway and expect delays.”

Milling generally removes the worn upper layer of pavement before a new surface is installed. For residents, the temporary inconvenience could mean smoother neighborhood roads once the work is finished.

The five streets are clustered in residential sections of Kinnelon, making the project especially important for people heading to work, bringing children to school or traveling through the neighborhoods during the day.

Drivers should watch for temporary restrictions, construction equipment and workers in the roadway, and check the township’s website for any updates.
