Lead exposure can be especially harmful to young children, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Even low levels of lead in the blood have been associated with developmental delays, learning difficulties and behavioral problems.
The township’s announcement does not say whether appointments are required or what participants should bring. It also does not specify how the screenings will be performed or when results will be available.
