2 Arrested, Loaded 'Ghost Gun' Recovered During Traffic Stop: Wall Police

WALL, NJ — Two people were arrested and a loaded "Ghost Gun" was recovered following a traffic stop on I-195 in early August.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, Wall Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on I-195 following a traffic violation.

During the investigation, the front-seat passenger, Jarrone Perry, 47, of Jackson, was found to have an active warrant issued by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office for failure to register as a sex offender. Perry was taken into custody without incident.

As the investigation continued, Brick Township Police Department K-9 Handler LaPoint and K-9 Rebel responded to the scene to assist.

K-9 Rebel conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive indication for the presence of narcotics or other contraband, police said.

A search of the vehicle was then conducted, resulting in the recovery of a loaded, AR-15-style privately manufactured firearm (also known as a "Ghost Gun").

As a result of the investigation, Perry and the driver, Christopher Ojeda Jr., 18, of Toms River, were both placed under arrest and charged with Possession of an Unserialized Firearm, Possession of Hollow-Point Ammunition, Possession of an Assault Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Rifle, and Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm.

Additionally, Perry was charged with Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons.

Both Perry and Ojeda Jr. were processed and brought to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI).
