Car Leaves Road, Crashes Into Utility Pole In Wall, Police Say

WALL, NJ — A road was closed for hours on Sunday after a vehicle left the road and crashed into a utility pole, Wall Police said.

Early Sunday morning, police responded to Belmar Boulevard at Gully Road for a report of a single-vehicle crash.

According to police, a vehicle was going west on Belmar Boulevard when it left the road and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported.

As a result of the crash, police said the utility pole sustained "significant damage," requiring it to be replaced immediately.

JCP&L and Verizon responded to the scene to evaluate the damage and determine necessary repairs.

Following the crash, Belmar Boulevard westbound and eastbound were closed at Gully Road and Allenwood Road for hours due to the "extensive work" the utility pole replacement required.

Authorities have not released the identity of the driver involved in the crash.
