New Burlington Store In Somerset County To Open With Grand Opening Giveaway

WATCHUNG, NJ — A new Burlington store is set to open in Watchung at Blue Star Shopping Center.

Grand opening events are planned for May 29 and May 30 at the new location at 1701 Route 22 in Watchung. This will become Burlington’s 56th location in New Jersey.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday and Saturday, the first 100 customers age 18 and older will receive a $10 Bonus Card to use toward a purchase.

Additionally, the company also said it will mark the opening with a $5,000 donation to a nearby high-needs school through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org.

The funds will be used for classroom materials, and the presentation to the local school community will take place during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Burlington Stores, Inc. said the new Watchung location will bring its updated store format to Somerset County shoppers.

Store hours are listed as 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

According to Burlington, the Watchung site features the company’s reimagined store design, with wider aisles, more organized layouts and bold signage intended to make navigation easier.

Burlington also said it plans to open 110 net new stores nationwide in 2026, all in the refreshed format.

Shoppers at the new store will find apparel and accessories for women, men, juniors and children, along with footwear, beauty and fragrance items, baby products, home décor, pet care and toys.

Burlington said fresh merchandise arrives each week and is offered at up to 60 percent off other retailers’ prices.
