The Jersey-born sandwich hut is known for its loaded chicken and eggplant cutlet sandwiches.

WAYNE, NJ — Hungry Wayne residents are in for a treat, because a Jersey-born sandwich shop is opening its newest location in town.

Tony Boy’s Sandwich House will be opening its sixth location at 239 Berdan Avenue, replacing what was once Paheli Modern Indian Cuisine.

The eatery offers a slew of sandwich options, including hot and cold subs, cheesesteaks, wraps, and more. Diners can also enjoy salads, pastas, milkshakes, and other items.

Tony Boy’s was created by Anthony Marra Jr., who first opened up Marra’s Restaurant in Livingston in 2013. When Marra noticed a storefront just a few doors down from Marra’s was vacant, he decided to open up a small sandwich shop just for a few hours a day in 2017.

“I wanted to be different and offer things that were fun, interesting and unique, while also taking classic sub-shop staples and making them the way I like to eat them,” Marra said in a statement. “The concept was well received, and I quickly realized this was going to be more than a little sub-shop open a few hours a day.”

Sure enough, Tony Boy’s opened its second location in Madison in 2020, followed by its third in Montville, then its fourth in Montclair. Marra’s Restaurant in Livingston is also now a Tony Boy’s location.

“I could not be more grateful for the support of these towns and all the surrounding areas,” Marra said. “My pledge will always be to serve you with the same standards I would want for myself. In other words… I will make it for you as if it were for me!”

Tony Boy’s in Wayne is expected to open in Fall 2026. Click here to learn more about the sandwich franchise.
