West Windsor Community Day Brings 1776 Town Faire Saturday

WEST WINDSOR, NJ — West Windsor Community Day is getting a Revolutionary makeover Saturday as Duck Pond Park transforms into an old-fashioned 1776 Town Faire.

The celebration, marking the USA's 250th birthday, runs from noon to 4 p.m. at Duck Pond Park on Meadow Road, according to a township announcement. The rain date is Sunday.

Visitors can meet Alexander Hamilton, take a photo with him and ask him about the Revolution. The mayor and Township Council will also read the Declaration of Independence.

The West Windsor Human Relations Council will host the “Human Chain for 250,” while the West Windsor Arts table will offer a free activity where visitors can make Revolutionary hats.

The Environmental Commission table will feature animal remains and information about animals of 1776, while the Health Department will share information about vaccines from that period.

“Come enjoy your favorite vendors, organizations and rides with a revolutionary twist!” the township said.

Attendees are also invited to “dress for the fun” by wearing red, white and blue or patriotic or Revolutionary-era clothing.

For West Windsor residents, Community Day offers a chance to enjoy a longtime local celebration while marking the nation’s 250th birthday with a Revolutionary twist.
