82-Year-Old Among Two Charged With DWI In Westfield

A crash on a Friday afternoon led to a DWI charge, while a separate incident resulted in another arrest, according to police.

WESTFIELD, NJ — An 82-year-old Scotch Plains man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash in Westfield last week, according to police.

Police say multiple calls came in around 1:30 p.m. Friday reporting a crash near East Dudley Avenue and Lawrence Avenue.

The driver, identified as Julius Pushman, 82, of Scotch Plains, was later charged with driving while intoxicated in connection with the incident.

No information was released about possible injuries or how many vehicles were involved in the crash.

In a separate incident, a 61-year-old East Orange woman was also charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop in Westfield.

Police say the stop happened around 10:19 p.m. on June 14 near East South Avenue and Livingston Street.

She was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, processed, and held at police headquarters before further proceedings.

No additional details were released in either case.
