Local Bands Host Benefit Concert at Crossroads to Support Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss
Thousands raised to support Imagine's grief support group program
On Saturday, February 7th, Hundreds of community members gathered at Crossroads in Garwood, NJ for an exciting four-band concert hosted by Scotch Plains resident Dave Handler, raising several thousand dollars in support of Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss.
The event brought together local music lovers and supporters of Imagine’s mission: ensuring that no child has to grieve alone. Proceeds from the event will directly support Imagine’s free, year-round grief support programs for children, teens, and families coping with the loss of a parent, sibling, or other significant loved one.
The organization extends its deepest gratitude to the talented bands who generously donated their time and energy to make the night such a success: Exit Eleven, Spongeworthy, Strikes and Gutters, and Paper Heart.

“We are incredibly grateful to Dave Handler for organizing such a meaningful and joyful evening in support of Imagine,” said Lindsay Schambach, Executive Director of Imagine. “Events like this remind families that they are not alone and that support is available.”

Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss is a 501c3 that offers training and education on loss and grief to the community and free year-round grief support groups for children ages 3-18 and young adults 19-30 who are coping with a loss due to death. Concurrently, support groups are available for the parents and caregivers of the children in the groups and offered in English and Spanish. Imagine has centers in Newark and Mountainside and offers virtual groups as well.
