Museum passes can now be reserved online through Westfield Library

(July 14, 2022) – The Westfield Memorial Library is happy to announce that museum passes can now be reserved up to (30) days in advance through the library's website. This new online reservation platform is made possible by support from the Friends of the Westfield Memorial Library.

The process is simple. Westfield resident cardholders and members of the Friends of the Library should visit https://wmlnj.org/museum-passes to get started. Patrons should read the library's procedures for museum passes, and browse the complete list of (22) museum passes.

Then, Reserve a Museum Pass Now is clicked. Available museum passes can be borrowed by museum or by date.

When browsing the museums and dates, patrons should make sure that the museum is open on the day they wish to go. Passes can be picked-up on a day when the museum is closed, but not if the pass is unavailable or the library is closed. While the museum closings should be up-to-date, it is best to confirm with the museum before making a reservation.

The date patrons select is the first date they will be eligible to pick-up the museum pass. Once the museum pass is picked up from the library, borrowers will have the pass for (3) days.

Next borrowers will enter their library card number and pin. (If the pin is unknown, the default is 1234. If patrons need help, they can call 908-789-4090 ext 0 for assistance.) Confirming the patron’s email address and phone number is next. The email address will be used to send borrowers an automated reminder prior to their reservation.

When borrowers are ready to pick up their passes, they must bring the library card that they used to make the reservation on the pick-up date during library hours of operation.

Reservations can be made for ALL museum passes, with the exception of museums that are temporarily closed and museums that use a voucher system like the American Museum of Natural History. Vouchers cannot be reserved. As the library has in the past, 10 passes are issued on the 1st and 15th of each month. Due to the limited number, each patron is allowed two passes each, no exceptions.

The library is located at 550 East Broad Street. Currently library hours are Monday - Thursday 9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; and closed on Sunday for the summer.
