Westfield BOE Reorganizes, Swears In New Members
Three newly elected members took office as the board named its president and vice president for the year ahead.

WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Board of Education swore in three newly elected members Tuesday night and selected its leadership for the coming year.
During the May 5 meeting at Westfield High School, Kent Diamond, Patrick Duffy and Anthony Tessitore officially began their three-year terms after taking the oath of office.
The board then named Rob Benacchio as president.

“Few candidates demonstrate such a deep commitment to communication with his fellow board members as well as with the community as a whole,” board member Kristen Sonnek-Schmelz said.
The board also selected Sonnek-Schmelz as vice president.
