WEST ORANGE, NJ — A paper shredding event will take place for West Orange residents on Sunday, April 12.

The event provides a secure and environmentally friendly way to dispose of sensitive paper documents. It is open to West Orange residents only.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Environmental Center, 590 Mt. Pleasant Avenue.

Here’s what to know if you plan to go, organizers say:

  • Gate opens until at 11 a.m., please don’t line up ahead of time on Mt. Pleasant Avenue as it causes a traffic hazard.
  • Gate will close exactly at 3 p.m., no one will be admitted into the site once the gate is closed.
  • Only confidential documents/bills/receipts: no plastic, file folders, magazines, blank envelopes, books, paper clips or any other document that does not have private information on it.
  • Limit 4 boxes per car, the truck fills up quickly and we would like all residents to have the opportunity to use this service.
  • Please enter the site carefully and follow as directed.
  • This service is for Township of West Orange residents only, please have your identification ready for proof of residency.
