Man Tries To Enter West Orange Resident's Car As It Idles In Driveway: Police

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A West Orange resident recently had an encounter with a man who tried to get into their idling car, authorities say.

According to the West Orange Police Department, the incident took place Aug. 10 on Rollinson Street.

The vehicle’s owner told police that an unknown black SUV pulled alongside the property while their BMW was idling in the driveway. A man wearing a black hoodie got out of the SUV and tried to get into the resident’s car.

When the resident approached the suspect, he fled back into the SUV, which drove away onto Valley Road, police said.
