West Orange 7th Grader Excels In Honors Classes, Volunteers To Help Classmates And Community

West Orange, New Jersey — New Jersey is home to students who are showing up, standing out and making a real impact in their schools and communities. To celebrate them, Patch and T-Mobile have partnered to spotlight local students excelling in academics, athletics, the arts and beyond.

Tell us about your star student's accomplishments and why they deserve to be recognized on Patch!

My star student gets straight A’s almost every year, all while taking honors classes. He volunteers to help others, even during COVID. His teacher would ask Micah to help classmates who were struggling with assignments, and he always stepped in to support them.

Teachers frequently ask Micah to help others, and he does so with a kind heart. He participates in extra band and has taken additional art classes, all while maintaining high honor roll. His artwork was chosen by his school for an exhibition for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

He makes an effort to befriend and support students with ADHD, offering encouragement and understanding. He also volunteers with his church and helps feed the homeless.

When he was in the hospital, he drew pictures for other kids there to make them smile. He is an overall kind and loving person to others.

He is a star and a fantastic role model.
