Opening Of Woodbridge's Activate Games Pushed Back To March 7

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Due to the winter storm, Activate Games will now open next Saturday, March 7 in Woodbridge.

This is the new indoor game space located at St. Georges Crossing shopping center, in the 14,650-square-foot space that used to be occupied by West Marine. Imagine indoor laser tag, paintball and an escape room all in one. It's a live-action indoor gaming facility where players "jump, climb, problem-solve and laugh, as you and your friends move between challenges," the company said on its website.

Is this a new escape room? No. And it's not an arcade, either. Activate Games says it has entertainment options ranging from little kids to adults, and games are like a physical adventure that involves teamwork and planning. The Woodbridge Patch will be trying out the facility and giving a review, so stay tuned!

They were supposed to have their grand opening to the public this Saturday. But the major blizzard that hit New Jersey delayed that. They will have a ribbon-cutting with Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac next Saturday, and the first 50 guests will receive giveaways, including a limited-edition Activate wristband for 30 days of free gameplay.

There will be mini competitions that day and music throughout the day from a live DJ.

Founded in Winnipeg, Canada, Activate has expanded to nearly 60 locations across North America and elsewhere. Woodbridge is their third location in New Jersey.
