Tree Crashes Onto Car On Route 208 In Wyckoff, Hospitalizing 2: Police

WYCKOFF, NJ — Two people were taken to the hospital on Saturday evening after a tree fell on a car traveling on Route 208 in Wyckoff, police said.

Around 8 p.m. Saturday, according to Wyckoff Police Lt. Joseph Soto, two people were traveling south on the highway in a Toyota Highlander during a severe storm.

A tree fell onto the highway, landing on the hood and windshield of the Highlander.

The front seat passenger, a 39-year-old Passaic woman, suffered cuts to her legs from the broken glass and was taken to the hospital by the Wyckoff Ambulance Corps, Soto said.

A rear seat passenger was also taken to the hospital for evaluation. None of the injuries were life threatening, police said.

Soto said there were no other major injuries in Wyckoff due to the storms that have been rolling through the area.

Flood Watch Continues

Bergen County remains under a flood watch until Tuesday at 6 a.m. Up to an inch and a half of rain is expected to fall on Monday.

The state's northeatern counties, including Bergen County, have a high risk of flash flooding, the NWS says.
