Popular LI Diner Opens Long-Awaited Babylon Village Location

BABYLON VILLAGE, NY — The wait is over for Babylon diners.
Whiskey Down Diner officially opened its new Babylon Village location Monday, marking the popular restaurant’s second Long Island location.

The restaurant announced the opening on social media Monday, telling followers it was excited for customers to finally see the details of the new space.

The Babylon restaurant is located at 175 E. Main St., in a space that underwent an extensive renovation ahead of the opening.

Whiskey Down held a series of soft openings for friends and family in the days leading up to Monday's debut, sharing glimpses of its new employees, food and redesigned interior on Instagram.

The expansion was first announced at the start of the year, when ownership revealed plans to bring Whiskey Down to Babylon in 2026. At the time, a location had not yet been publicly identified and the project still required village approvals.

Babylon Village later held a public hearing on the restaurant's special-use permit application in February. Plans presented to village officials called for interior renovations, an expanded kitchen and outdoor seating.

The original Whiskey Down Diner opened on Main Street in Farmingdale in 2019. The restaurant is known for its breakfast dishes, burgers, sandwiches, disco fries and other comfort-food offerings.
