"We host Community Day as a way of thanking and giving back to the residents who support us throughout the year,"GBFD Fire Chief Melillo said. "It brings together Golden’s Bridge firefighters and our partners in emergency response with the community we serve. But most importantly, to coincide with National Fire Prevention Month, Community Day calls attention to fire safety and prevention in an engaging, casual and entertaining environment. We want everyone to have a good time and to enjoy the camaraderie, food, activities and demonstrations. But we also want to impart the message that fire safety, education and awareness helps save lives,"
