Realtime Crime Tip Leads To I-684 Stop, Meth, Meth Pipe, Gun, Ammo Feeding Device, Arrests: NYSP

LEWISBORO, NY — There are plenty of places where cruising around in a stolen car might go unnoticed, but not in Westchester County.

The New York State Police say that on Sunday, the Westchester County Real Time Crime Center broadcast a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) about a stolen vehicle traveling north on I-684, in the Town of Harrison.

Troopers from Somers then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, on I-684, near mile marker 19.3, in Lewisboro.

The driver was identified as 42-year-old Sadavian L. Donald, of Charlotte, North Carolina. The passenger was identified as 42-year-old Amanda Nichols Oropeza, also from Charlotte, North Carolina.

During the investigation, troopers found a plastic bag containing around 22 grams of a white crystalline substance, presumed to be methamphetamine, in addition to a methamphetamine pipe.

A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a Glock 20 handgun and three unloaded ammunition feeding devices.

After further investigation by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Somers, both Donald and Oropeza were arrested. They were charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of the controlled substance (intent to sell); felony fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine); three felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (ammunition feeding device); felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon; and misdemeanor seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

In addition, Donald was charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of stolen property; and several vehicle/traffic violations.

Donald and Oropeza were processed by the New York State Police and arraigned in the Town of Lewisboro Court.

Donald was remanded to the Westchester County Jail pending his appearance in the Town of Lewisboro Court on Monday.

Oropeza was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail, a $30,000 secured bond, or a $35,000 partially secured bond.
