2 People, 5 Pets Escape Bellmore House Fire: FD

BELLMORE, NY — Two adults and five pets were displaced from their Bellmore home after a fire early Thursday morning, fire marshals said.

Firefighters responded to the two-story home on Wynne Lane in Bellmore at 3:34 a.m. on Thursday and were met with a fire on the outside of the house near the electrical service, the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said.

Approximately 60 firefighters battled the fire, ultimately placing it under control within 20 minutes, fire marshals said.

Bellmore Fire Department received mutual aid from North Bellmore, Merrick, North Merrick, Wantagh, and Massapequa Fire Department, fire marshals said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is being investigated by the NCFM's Office and Police Arson/Bomb Squad, according to fire marshals.
