North Bellmore Public Library to Host Third Annual Halloween Costume Shop October 2 & 3

North Bellmore Public Library (NBPL) will host its third annual Halloween Costume Shop, allowing community members to browse for gently used, new-to-them costumes at no cost. The free Halloween Costume Shop will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, in the library’s community room. Residents of all ages are invited to browse the donated costumes and take home items at no cost while supplies last.

“This is a fun, sustainable way for families to find something ‘new’ for Halloween while reducing waste,” said Jessica Tymecki, Director of the North Bellmore Public Library. “We’re excited to bring the community together once again to share great costume finds at no cost to them!”

The library has been collecting gently used costumes – from infant through adult sizes – throughout September. The Halloween Costume Shop is part of the library’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. NBPL earned Sustainable Library certification through the Sustainable Libraries Initiative’s Sustainable Libraries Certification Program. It was the first public library in Nassau County to earn this certification.
