Brooklyn Deli To Close For Weeks After Fire
A neighborhood deli is shutting its doors while crews repair damage from a fire that broke out behind the building.
BROOKLYN, NY— A fire behind a three-story mixed-occupancy building on Fort Hamilton Parkway in Brooklyn forced Brother's Deli and Bagel to close for several weeks as the business undergoes renovations.
The Fire Department of New York received a call at 2:54 p.m. about a fire in the rear setback of the building at 7105 Fort Hamilton Parkway, between 71st and 72nd streets.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control at 3:21 p.m., according to the FDNY.

The department deployed 21 units and 79 fire and EMS personnel to the scene.
No injuries were reported.

Brother's Deli and Bagel, located at 7105 Fort Hamilton Parkway, will remain closed for several weeks while the business completes renovations.
The shop has been a Bay Ridge neighborhood fixture for more than two decades, opened by local owners Edgar and Hector Morales.
The fire occurred in the rear setback of the three-story building, which measures about 25 feet by 75 feet and contains multiple occupancies.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately provided.
