Gathering on the historic grounds of the nation’s second-largest free Black community before the Civil War, we will gather together to consider what it means to carry on the legacy of Black belonging in Brooklyn today, examining a rapidly growing issue: deed theft. Begin the night with a free tour of the Historic Hunterfly Road Houses to learn more about the inspiring history of Black homeownership and placemaking in Central Brooklyn. Then gather with us to hear from advocates and community members who are directly impacted by deed theft. Through their stories, learn more about the troubling rise of deed theft and about the tools we have as a community to fight it. Accompanying this event, Weeksville invites you to continue the conversation by sharing your own stories of deed theft with us.

Sound bowls are a wonderful way to relax and restore your mind, body and spirit. Christine is a certified Tibetan Sound Bowl Practitioner, a method that has been used for centuries to promote health and healing within. Expect to enter a deep state of relaxation while you lay on your mat enjoying nature.
Please wear comfortable clothing. Mats are provided but it is recommended to bring a towel for extra padding and support for when you're laying on your back.&nbsp;You may also want a small towel to cover your eyes if you wish.
