Gunman Opens Fire Inside Brooklyn Laundromat
Police continued searching Tuesday for the gunman who fled after the fatal shooting.
BROOKLYN, NY — A gunman walked into a Flatlands laundromat Monday morning and opened fire, killing a 41-year-old man as customers scrambled for cover inside the crowded business, police and witnesses said.
The shooting happened around 8 a.m. inside the laundromat at Utica Avenue.
Police said the 41-year-old victim was washing clothing when the gunman entered and fired multiple shots. Medics rushed the man to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A 68-year-old man also suffered a graze wound to the foot.
Witnesses said the burst of gunfire sent customers diving to the ground and running for safety.

At the time of the shooting, about 15 people were inside the business during the holiday weekend morning rush, including an employee standing behind the register just feet from the gunman.
Police said the gunman fled after the shooting. No arrests had been made Tuesday afternoon.
