Center Moriches Schools Welcomes Students Back For 2026-2027 School Year

Students, Staff Excited for Year Ahead

Center Moriches School District welcomed students across all three schools for the first day of the 2026–2027 school year on Wednesday, September 2. Students returned to Clayton Huey Elementary School, Center Moriches Middle School, and Center Moriches High School ready to reconnect with classmates and teachers and embark on a new year of learning.

“The beginning of a new school year is filled with excitement and possibility,” said Dr. Ricardo Soto, Superintendent of Schools. “We are thrilled to welcome our students back and look forward to all they will accomplish, the relationships they will build, and the experiences they will share throughout the year. Our entire school community is ready for a wonderful year of learning and growth.”

Students in pre-K through grade 12 were greeted by Dr. Ricardo Soto, as well as by Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Data Management Dr. Jaime Bottcher, Assistant Superintendent for Business Fernando Osorio, building principals, administrators, and staff members. From the first bell to the start of classes, first-day excitement throughout the District was evident as students and educators kicked off another year together.
