Man Arrested After Stealing More Than $400K From East Moriches Employer: Police
He deposited more than 200 checks into his personal account, police say.
EAST MORICHES, NY — A Holtsville man was arrested after stealing more than $400,000 from his East Moriches employer, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, Anthony Ferguson, 37, was arrested on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
The owner of a business located on Frowein Road in East Moriches reported that one of his employees had embezzled money from his company between the dates of April 9, 2020 and November 28, 2025, police said.

The owner made a police report on December 3, 2025, police said.
After an investigation by financial crimes unit detectives, in conjunction with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office's financial crimes bureau, it was determined that Ferguson had deposited more than 200 checks into his personal bank account, totaling $443,841, police said.

Ferguson was arrested and charged with second-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records, police said.
He was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday, police said.
