Celebrate Jewish Book Month this November with the Suffolk Y JCC at a special book presentation and signing with Bill Farran, author of Lost Treasures: The Wooden Synagogues of Eastern Europe.
Discover the shtetls of Sholom Aleichem through Farran’s woodcut art, which captures the beauty and history of wooden synagogues built throughout Poland and Lithuania between the 1600s and 1800s. His collection of linocuts and prints preserves the memory of these historic structures and the way of life surrounding them, most of which were destroyed during the Holocaust.
Combining art, history and family genealogy, Farran’s work offers a meaningful opportunity to explore Jewish heritage and commemorate the stories behind these lost treasures during Jewish Book Month.
