The Women’s Club of Farmingdale Installs 2026-28 Executive Board
At The Women’s Club of Farmingdale (WCF) June Luncheon, Chair Cheryl Parisi and committee members Margaret Barrett and Ingrid Hernandez, provided a Red, White and Blue Celebration with a delicious catered BBQ lunch from Zorn’s which included BBQ chicken, hot dogs, salads and desserts.At this meeting, club members donated paper goods, paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, etc. to St. Kilian’s Outreach.

On behalf of the club, Anna Ievolo and Gayle Garthwaite proudly installed the new 2026-2028 Executive Board.Each new member received a beautiful flower whose color held special significance to the role that member would now perform.The new Board is as follows:

The newly elected president, Margaret Barrett, was presented with a beautiful 14K gold President’s Pin donated by Past President Dolores Cianciabella.Dolores has requested that her pin be passed along to each new president. Thank you, Dolores, for your very thoughtful gesture.
At the annual Farmingdale High School Senior Awards Night, on June 2, the club’s Award Committee Chairs, Vicky Impollonia and Gayle Garthwaite, presented seniors with the following club and NYS awards:

The Olive B. O’Connor Music Award is given by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs annually to a New York State senior whose musical talents, i.e. singing and musical theatre performances, are outstanding.William Herbert plans to continue his education and creative exploration within the musical arts genre.
Farmingdale School District Creative Writing student winners from the March GFWC NYS Island Metro Cultural Arts Competition were presented with their certificates at the Board of Education Meeting on June 3.
On Tuesday, June 2, WCF President Lynda Leone delivered a check in the amount of $800 to the Farmingdale Public Library in support of their Triple P and CASE Programs. Both programs are designed to support all-abilities learners.
In early May, the WCF continued its Shut the Door on Hunger Program (STDOH) by collecting donated food supplies and gift cards to be donated to area students during the long Memorial Day Weekend when schools are closed.Adults from the Library’s CASE program were, once again, on hand to sort and pack the food items.FSD social workers picked up the bags and distributed them to ensure no student goes hungry when schools are not in session.
The WCF Book Club, chaired by Elaine Ryan, recently read and discussed The Story She Left Behind by Patti Callahan Henry and Lady Tremaine by Rachel Hochhauser.Both books were read and enjoyed by the club.Club members also participate in a weekly mahjongg game, chaired by Nancy Carman, and a weekly “walk & talk” fitness routine, (weather permitting), chaired by Ann Lomonte.
