Lawrence Student Art Show Celebrates Creativity, Talent, and Imagination
The Lawrence Student Art Show was a wonderful success as students, families, educators, and community members came together to celebrate the artistic achievements of Lawrence Public Schools students. The event showcased an impressive collection of artwork from across the district, highlighting the creativity, talent, and hard work of student artists at every grade level.
The exhibit featured a diverse range of artistic expressions, reflecting the unique perspectives and imaginations of students throughout the district. Visitors had the opportunity to explore colorful displays and thoughtfully crafted pieces that demonstrated both artistic growth and creative storytelling.
“The Lawrence Student Art Show is a celebration of creativity, imagination, and the unique voices of our students. Each piece on display reflects not only artistic skill, but also the confidence, perseverance, and personal expression that develop through arts education,” said Ryan Armstrong, Lawrence High School Assistant Principal. “ We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication and enthusiasm, and we thank our talented art teachers for inspiring young artists to explore new ideas and bring their visions to life.”

A special recognition goes to Ms. Anne Young, Lawrence Public Schools art teacher, whose dedication and passion have inspired students throughout the school year. Through her guidance, encouragement, and expertise, students developed their artistic skills and created works they are truly proud to share with the community.
Many of the featured pieces were inspired by beloved children's literature, including Robot in Love, The Whatifs, How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow, Norman the Slug with the Silly Shell, Cat Problems, Love Monster and the Last Chocolate, and Bear's Winter Party. Students used these stories as a springboard for artistic expression, bringing characters, themes, and imaginative ideas to life through their artwork.
