$3M Jackpot Lottery Ticket Sold At Freeport Grocer

FREEPORT, NY — A Freeport-based trust is $3 million richer this week after claiming a top prize from a New York Lottery “$3,000,000 Bonus Stars” scratch-off ticket, the Lottery announced Monday.

According to lottery officials, the winning ticket was sold on Broadway in Freeport, at Torres Deli & Grocery. The Ronald Stuckey Revocable Trust has claimed the prize, opting for a one-time lump payment of $1,334,553 after taxes.

According to the American Bar Association, revocable trusts — also known as "living trusts" — are often made during one's lifetime.

"A living trust can help you manage your assets or protect you should you become ill, disabled or simply challenged by the symptoms of aging," the bar association says on its website. "Most living trusts are written to permit you to revoke or amend them whenever you wish to do so. These trusts do not help you avoid estate tax because your power to revoke or amend them causes them to continue to be includable in your estate. These trusts do help you avoid probate, which may not always be necessary depending on the cost and complexity of probate in your estate."

As for the lottery game won by the Stuckey Revocable Trust, lottery officials said there is still a $3 million top prize out there in the $3 million Bonus Stars game, and prospective players can follow along for updates on the game at nylottery.ny.gov.

In the 2025-26 fiscal year, the lottery reported over $4 billion in sales, with over $200 million being sent to Nassau County schools through lottery aid to education funds.
