Man Dies After Striking Utility Pole While Driving In Roosevelt: Police

There were 3 other people in the car with him including a child, 9, police say.

ROOSEVELT, NY — A 37-year-old man died after he struck a utility pole while driving in Roosevelt on Saturday evening, police said.

The man was driving a 2021 Chrysler sedan traveling southbound on Brookside Avenue at the intersection of West Centennial Avenue when he struck a utility pole at 7:44 p.m., Nassau County police said.

The 37-year-old man was transported to a nearby hospital with three other passengers who were in the Sedan, including a 36-year-old woman, 19-year-old teenager, and 9-year-old girl, police said.

According to police, the 37-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the hospital, and the other occupants sustained serious physical injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
