A lifelong member of the Half Hollow Hills community, Truocchio has served the district as a student, teacher and administrator.

The Half Hollow Hills Central School District proudly announces the appointment of Michael Truocchio as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources. A lifelong member of the Half Hollow Hills community, Truocchio has served the district as a student, teacher and administrator, bringing a deep understanding of its values and commitment to excellence. He will assume the role on July 1, 2026, following the retirement of Dr. Jeffery Woodberry.

“Strong leadership is essential to ensuring staff have the resources they need and students have access to high-quality educational experiences,” said John O’Farrell, Superintendent of Schools. “Mr. Truocchio’s experience across multiple roles in the district, combined with his collaborative approach, positions him well to lead our Human Resources efforts and continue supporting a culture of excellence across our schools.”

Truocchio most recently served as Director of Middle School Special Education, where he has worked closely with families and staff to implement educational programs that support student success. He began his career as a teacher at Half Hollow Hills High School West in 2010 before transitioning to a central office administrative role in 2020.

“It is an honor and privilege to continue my work in Half Hollow Hills,” said Truocchio. “I look forward to the opportunity to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to carry on the rich tradition of high expectations in the Half Hollow Hills community.”

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Siena College, a Master’s Degree in Adolescent Education from Dowling College, and a Post-Master’s Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership from SUNY Stony Brook.

“Half Hollow Hills remains dedicated to strengthening staff support, building cohesive school communities, and advancing student success,” added O’Farrell. “The district looks forward to welcoming Mr. Truocchio into this role.”

An education-oriented community with high academic expectations, the Half Hollow Hills Central School District is located in a residential area of 50,000 people in the central part of Long Island, approximately 40 miles from New York City. Providing for the education of approximately 7,200 students, the school district has five elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools. Half Hollow Hills High Schools are fully accredited by the New York State Department of Education. The district is committed to providing all students with equitable opportunities to excel in academics, athletics and the arts.
