Suspect Arrested In Homicide Outside Central Park, Police Say

The 36-year-old man was pronounced dead at a local hospital following the attack.

HARLEM, NY — A suspect has been arrested nearly a month after a man was shot to death on West 110th Street, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, 36-year-old Santiago Rafael Garcia De Jesus was shot in front of 111 West 110th St., near the corner of Malcolm X Boulevard, right alongside Central Park on March 31 at 10:22 p.m.

When police arrived, they found Garcia De Jesus, who is from Yonkers, with multiple gunshot wounds in his torso.

He was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead, police said.

On April 24, 32-year-old Antwan Ross was arrested in central Harlem.

Ross, who lives on the border of Washington Heights and Harlem, has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
