$97K In Package Thefts Lead To Staten Island Man's Arrest, Police Say
NCPD says the packages were reported stolen in April.
HICKSVILLE, NY — A Staten Island man was arrested after two packages, worth $97,000, were reported stolen in April, police said.
Nassau County police said Denys Hryshchenko, 18, was accused of entering FedEx on Newbridge Road on April 23 and using fraudulent identification to retrieve the two packages, before he fled the scene.
Upon investigation, he was placed under arrest without incident on May 18 at 7:05 a.m., police said.

He was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, first-degree identity theft, second-degree grand larceny, and unlawful possession of personal identifying information, NCPD said.
He will be arraigned on May 19 in Hempstead, and detectives request that anyone who has any information contact 1-800-244-TIPS – all callers will remain anonymous, police said.
