Westbury House Fire Leaves 5 Without Home: FD

WESTBURY, NY — A Westbury house fire on Saturday has left five people displaced, fire marshals said.

The Westbury Fire Department received a house fire call at 5:40 p.m., the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said.

About 50 firefighters brought a fire under control within 20 minutes at the Bedford Ave. two-story, two-family home, fire marshals said.

According to fire marshals, no injuries were reported, and the Red Cross wasn't requested. Smoke detectors were present and activated, fire marshals said.

Mutual aid assistance was provided by Carle Place, Garden City, Mineola, and Hempstead, all under the command of Chief Stewart, fire marshals said.

Fire officials said the NCFM's Office and the NCPD Arson/Bomb Squad are investigating the fire.
