Mental Health And Wellness Block Party Coming To Elmhurst

QUEENS, NY — A free Mental Health & Wellness Block Party will be held in Elmhurst this weekend.
The block party will be held on Saturday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside Elmhurst Hospital at 41st Avenue and 80th Street.

The community event will bring together music, wellness activities and mental health resources as part of an effort to promote suicide prevention and community connection.

Event highlights include a suicide prevention walk, live music, DJ Mad Luuk, community resources, face painting, martial arts, games, tie-dye, henna, dancing, free ice cream and raffles.
Organizers are also encouraging attendees to take part in activities focused on wellness and suicide-prevention awareness.

The event will serve as a send-off for National Suicide Prevention Week, with organizers inviting residents of all ages to join the celebration and connect with available mental health resources.
The block party is sponsored by MetroPlusHealth and Catalina, in partnership with NYC Health Hospitals/Elmhurst.
