2 Accused Of Throwing Motor Oil At NYC Synagogues: Police

QUEENS, NY — Police are investigating two incidents involving bags of motor oil thrown at synagogues in Queens.

The first incident happened on Thursday, July 16 around 11:44 p.m. at Young Israel of Jamaica Estates, located at 83-10 188th Street. According to police, two unidentified individuals went to the rear of the building and threw bags containing motor oil before fleeing in a dark-colored Chevrolet Suburban.

The second incident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. July 16 and 6:20 a.m. July 17 at Young Israel of Holliswood, at 86-25 Francis Lewis Boulevard. Police said two individuals went to the rear of the synagogue and threw bags containing motor oil before fleeing on foot.

The NYPD has released surveillance images of the suspects. No arrests have been made yet.
