Northport Maritime Day & Blessing of the Fleet Set for June 13

Northport, NY — The Northport Maritime Day & Blessing of the Fleet will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Northport Village Park and Dock.

Coordinated by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Northport Flotilla in partnership with the Village of Northport and the Northport Chamber of Commerce, the event celebrates Northport’s maritime past, present, and future with activities on land and water for all ages.


Event Highlights

  • 11:00 a.m. – Blessing of the Fleet Ceremony at Northport Village Dock
  • Boat Parade featuring vessels from local yacht clubs and recreational boaters
  • Dockside Vessel Tours (12:00 – 2:00 p.m.) including fishing vessels, Coast Guard and maritime response craft
  • Maritime Activities & Demonstrations (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) in Village Park

Full Day Schedule

  • 8:00 a.m. – Northport Farmers Market opens
  • 9:00 a.m. – Northport Running Club Downhill Race
  • 10:00 a.m. – Maritime Day activities, booths, and exhibits open
  • 11:00 a.m. – Blessing of the Fleet ceremony
  • 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Vessel tours at Village Dock

On the Water

More than 100 boats are expected to participate in the parade, including vessels from the Northport and Centerport Yacht Clubs as well as recreational boaters, many decorated with nautical flags.

Planned participants include vessels from:

  • U.S. Coast Guard Station Eaton’s Neck
  • U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary
  • U.S. Merchant Marine Academy
  • Northport Fire Department

Following the Blessing, select vessels will be available at the dock for public viewing.


In the Park

Village Park activities will include demonstrations and hands-on opportunities related to boating safety and seamanship, such as:

  • Man-overboard drills
  • Search and rescue patterns
  • Emergency line throwing

Additional activities are expected to include:

  • Children’s events such as the Rain-Gutter Regatta
  • Marine-related exhibits and community displays
  • Live music from local performers

Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program and the Northport Historical Society are expected to participate with educational displays and exhibits.


Following the Blessing of the Fleet, judges will officiate the Maritime Day contest recognizing local breweries.
